About the course:
‘Curious Curations’ is a five day course which will take place from August 24 - 28, 2009. Ten participants will investigate the synergy created by grouping artworks for public examination. Concepts will be
introduced by attending the ROM and AGO in Toronto, and by viewing online resources.
Examples of contemporary Canadian art will be introduced to expand appreciation of curatorial practice and artistic expression. All aspects of planning and implementing a professional art exhibition will be studied, from conceptualization to opening reception, with a focus on the dialogue created between multiple
artworks when they are presented as a cohesive show.
Participants will also document their activities throughout the week using video and photography.
A short video about the course will also be made and posted on Ed Video’s website.
Participation is FREE for the selected youth and healthy and tasty lunches will be provided each day. All
material, equipment and admission costs are included.
