Ed Video

Shotgun Microphones

Ed Video currently has three shotgun microphones. Please note that you will need to use an external recorder or adapter in order to use a shotgun microphone with a DSLR camera. Any of the shotgun microphones will work with a standard video camera capable of accepting an XLR connection.

The use of a boom pole is included in the rental of a shotgun microphone (pending availability- please book).

Sennheiser MKH-416
Daily Rates: $7.50@ Artist Rate     $25 @ Profit Rate
The MKH-416 is the highest-quality microphone available at Ed Video. This is most noticeable in how it doesn't pick up as much ambient noise and room hiss as our other microphones do. Voices will sound clearer when recorded with this microphone.
The only downside to using this microphone is that it doesn't use a battery and therefore requires an external power supply from the recorder or camera.
